Nesika Elementary
Our students enjoyed a variety of outdoor learning experiences this week. Inspired by the nature art of Andy Goldsworthy, one class explored the creativity found in nature by creating artwork with natural materials. Another class used sorting cards and collection cups to gather items from the forest and sort them by texture, identifying objects that were bumpy, smooth, or pokey.
Building on their daily affirmation, "I have a great imagination," another group headed into the forest to build, create, and play using natural materials and imaginative thinking. Students also took part in story play outdoors, creating their own fall-themed adventures. Many stories featured pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and other signs of the season.
